Project Outcome 101

eLearning
Webinar
Learn about outcome measurement in libraries and Project Outcome, a free toolkit that helps libraries measure and assess the outcomes of key library programs and services.

Join this FREE webinar hosted jointly by the Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL) and the Public Library Association (PLA) to learn about outcome measurement in libraries. Project Outcome is a free toolkit that helps libraries measure and assess the outcomes of key library programs and services. Participants will be introduced to everything the Project Outcome toolkit has to offer. Learn how to measure meaningful learning outcomes and how Project Outcome can help at every step in the process—from administering surveys to presenting the results.

We recommend that participants register for Project Outcome for public or academic libraries and review basic materials in the toolkit prior to the webinar. During the webinar, participants will have the opportunity to ask questions of the expert presenters and chat with other attendees.

Learning Outcomes

At the conclusion of this free webinar, participants will be able to:

  • Discover how Project Outcome can help libraries measure meaningful learning outcomes;
  • Learn how to use the Project Outcome toolkit, from administering surveys to visualizing results;
  • Understand how other libraries have used outcome data for action; and
  • Learn how to utilize data to improve library services and better advocate for the library.

Who Should Attend

This free webinar is intended for all library staff and administrators, at both public and academic libraries, who are interested in making improvements to the library’s programs and services. Been a few years since your library has used Project Outcome? Join this webinar to see what is new and improved!

Accommodations

In addition to text-based chat, Zoom has a closed captioning feature. As a registrant, you can enable this captioning feature. If you have any questions or need to make arrangements for additional accessibility, please contact esharpe@ala.org.

Tech Requirements

This webinar will be presented using the Zoom platform. Please review Zoom technical requirements and support information, and test your connection.

Once you've joined the webinar, there are two ways to connect your audio: via computer (VoIP) or via telephone. No microphone is required. PLA works with its webinar platform provider to assure the highest quality audio is being delivered to attendees. However, variables over which PLA has no control—such as the speed of your Internet connection or traffic on your local network—can affect the end quality of the webinar audio delivered by your computer. Each webinar’s audio is also available by telephone via a toll number, so we recommend you have access to a long-distance enabled phone as a backup in case you experience audio issues with VoIP. If you do encounter any problems during the webinar, you will receive a link to its archived recording within a week of the live event and can review anything you missed.
